SWFL has started off with lots of adversity. From water temps rising and falling, redtide moving in the area, and cold fronts fishing has been challenging for anglers. Pilchards have pretty much disappeared and it's a shrimp and jig game. I've been finding some nice trout in the backcountry focusing on finding clean water. I've been using 1/4 oz jigs with gotcha grubs and new penny gulps. Live shrimp pitched up into the troughs and mangroves with a popping cork is another great technique. I'm super excited about and looking forward to more great guest experience. Here is Matt and Tom scoring on some awesome trout fishing and Charlie catching reds and snook. Capt.
