Fishing here in SWFL has been fantastic with redtide moving out. Bait has been plentiful with rising water temps the snook and redfish bite has really picked up. Here is Jan with a personal best redfish and Bob with a very cool spotted redfish. Focus on the higher stages of the tide for redfish using live shrimp, live pilchards, and for artificial guys try a 1/4oz jig with the 3inch New Penny. With Xmas approaching now is a great time to purchase a fishing charter for friends and family.

Fishing here in Naples has been fantastic with lots of redfish being caught in the area. Shrimp, Pilchards and artificial baits have all been giving anglers a nice variety of techniques. The trout bite has been picking up in the area using gulp baits and popping corks. Look for conditions to remain consistent this week with the weather being great. Here is Skip with a beautiful 4spot redfish one of many they caught on a morning halfday trip.
Capt. Joey Benko Naples Fishing Charters Naples Fishing is on fire right now. Lots of snook, redfish, and big jacks crushing pilchards and live shrimp. With the lingering redtide around pay attention to your bait wells to keep your baits alive. Fishing in the backwaters from Naples to Marco has provided some amazing action. This mornings trip included 20snook up to 28inches and 15 redfish with most being in the slot. Focus on mangrove shorelines with good flow and big mullet to find these fish. Here is Mike from Mikes Bait House taking a quick lunch break to bend a rod. Look for fishing to keep improving this week.
Capt. Joey Benko Naples Florida Fishing Charters Fishing here in SWFL has been fantastic the fish are fired up. Redfish have moved into the area in nice numbers along with snook roaming up and down the beaches. Tarpon have been rolling the beaches south of Gordons Pass. Look for large schools of mullet and you will find the fish roaming with these schools. Pilchards and thread fins have been perfect size on the beaches but be aware that redtide patches are out in the gulf and after catching your bait try to get back on the inside before your bait dies. The redtide bloom seems to only be affecting the mullet at this time. For the artificial guys play the high incoming tides using 1/4 oz jigs with 3 inch Gulp New Penny to catch redfish and snook. Here is a recent photo taken during the Everglades City Fishing Tournament with Aldo and Luca catching a pair of 35&36 inch snook. Book a trip now!
Capt. Joey Benko Naples Inshore Fishing Charters Fishing in the Naples area has remained solid but a little sluggish coming off the full moon. The water temps are still in the upper 80's and bait is all over the beaches. Baits have been small but staying persistent will help you find the bigger baits. Snook can be found along the beaches and passes. Redfish can be found on near shore points at the higher stages of the tide. Pilchards are your best bet for targeting these fish but don't be afraid to throw some artificial baits or flies. Here is Mike from Mike's Bait House and his son Miles. Miles lost his biggest snook to date to the tax man that broke everyones heart. And who knew Mike not only sells shrimp but he can catch fish! Look for fishing to get really hot and get out early to beat the heat. Capt. Joey www.NaplesFishingGuide.com Bait is back! With the arrival of pilchards and warmer water temps the game is constantly improving. Water temps have been climbing into the mid 70's and will continue to warm up this week. Bait can be found along the beaches with pelicans dive bombing them. I've found great action on the outgoing tides along deep mangrove points for snook. Redfish have been showing up on the later stages of the incoming tides. Here are a couple of nice redfish caught using pilchards with a heavy split shot under the mangroves.
Capt. Joey Benko Naples Backwater Fishing Charters Fishing here in Naples has been changing rapidly with the warmer water temps. The water temps have climbed between 76-79 degrees. Look for bait to start showing up on the beaches and near shore structure. Time to bust out those nets and get them ready for some serious bait fishing. Anyone looking for a good net stop into Mikes Bait House for the full line of Hump Back Nets. With warmer temps the big snook have been showing up around the passes. Redfish can be targeted using smaller baits, gulp new penny and also live shrimp under the mangroves where you can find a nice pocket to soak them. Today's action was pretty fierce catching two personal best and losing a monster snook. Look for the front to change the game a little midweek with cooler temps.
Capt. Joey Benko Naples Fishing Charters Fishing here in SWFL has been heating up with this amazing stretch of warm weather we are experiencing. I've been focusing on the start of the outgoing tide targeting very nice trout using a 1/4 oz jig with a 3inch New Penny Gulps. Also the special jigs of the month tied by Capt. Roan at Mike's Bait House have been working great for a variety of species. Bait has been showing up but with water temps still in the higher 60's don't be to anxious to jump away from the shrimp and jig fishing.
Now is the time to get all your summer gear ready for the big fish. TFO Rods and Florida Fishing Products are a great match for catching snook, redfish, trout and tarpon this summer. Stop down and see Mike at the Bait House to get your latest fishing gear. And for all you boaters don't forget take this time to do the necessary repairs to your boat before things on the water are on fire. See Andrew and The Boat House for your boating needs. Capt. Joey Benko Naples Fishing Guide Fishing here in Naples has been up and down with the fronts that have been cooling off the water. The water temps are plunging into the lower 60's. Look for troughs along mangrove shorelines and deep holes in the backcountry. Jigs tipped with shrimp are still producing as well as gulp 3inch new penny shrimp. When you find the fish just don't want to bite change up your speeds and also your jigs. I find throwing a variety of baits will help find the good fish. Look for fishing to remain challenging with two cold fronts coming through this week.
Capt. Joey Benko Naples Fishing Guide Fishing here in Naples has been up and down between cold fronts. The water temps have been fluctuating between 68-71 degrees. Baits of choice this time of year have been jigs tipped with shrimp and live shrimp. I've been working with Capt. Roan at Mikes Bait House to develop a series of jigs for the winter time species. The jigs range from 1/8oz,1/4oz and 3/8oz tipped with a piece of shrimp you will find steady winter time action. Here is Gary with a beautiful redfish caught on the 1/8oz custom jig. Look for fishing to continue to fluctuate with cold fronts moving through the area.
