Fishing here in Naples has been very good with lots of snook and redfish being the main players. Bait has been plentiful but with some red tide lingering in the gulf pay attention to your baits. Bait fish will start to move erratically and die when red tide is present in your bait wells.
This weekends weather will change the game for the start of this week. I have found some great success with the Live Target Pilchard and Mullet. Along with these artificial baits throwing a 1/4oz gulp shrimp in New Penny or Molton will get the job done. Here is Gary putting on a fish catching clinic from the UK. His crew had a great week catching Tarpon, Snook, Redfish and big Jacks. Checkout Mike's Bait House for your tackle needs. Capt. Joey Naples Florida Fishing Charters

Fishing here in SWFL has been fantastic the fish are fired up. Redfish have moved into the area in nice numbers along with snook roaming up and down the beaches. Tarpon have been rolling the beaches south of Gordons Pass. Look for large schools of mullet and you will find the fish roaming with these schools. Pilchards and thread fins have been perfect size on the beaches but be aware that redtide patches are out in the gulf and after catching your bait try to get back on the inside before your bait dies. The redtide bloom seems to only be affecting the mullet at this time. For the artificial guys play the high incoming tides using 1/4 oz jigs with 3 inch Gulp New Penny to catch redfish and snook. Here is a recent photo taken during the Everglades City Fishing Tournament with Aldo and Luca catching a pair of 35&36 inch snook. Book a trip now!
