With the last front that came through and a big full moon the water temp has fallen back to the lower 70's. Bait fish have been the keys baits of choice but with cooler temps fish are still waiting for things to warm. Look for snook on the falling tide and redfish at the end of the incoming. Here is Carol Downey catching two beautiful redfish this week. With warmer temps look for things to start improving fast.

Fishing in Naples has been getting better and better with the warmer water temps. Spring is almost here bait has been challenging but once you have it the fish will come a get it. Snook have been the main players in the Naples backwater along with redfish and trout. I've been targeting snook wherever I can find clean water and redfish at the higher stages of the incoming tide. Trout have been big but not real prevalent. Look for the fishing to improve as this weeks forecast is looking to stay in the 80's. Here is one of many snook that we have been catching here in Naples right now 20snook catches on half day trips is pretty common.
Capt. Joey Benko Fishing here in Naples has been improving fast with the increasing water temps. The water temp in the backcountry has hit 76degrees. Snook, Trout, Jacks and Redfish have all been chasing pilchards. Bait has been showing up in good numbers and look for birds to be chasing bait balls up and down the beach. I've been using the new Fins 40g line and it is being put through the test lined up on the Okuma Azore 4000 and the 7312 Cousins Rods. I've been targeting snook and trout on the lower stages of the tide with redfish on the higher end of the incoming tide. Here is Heidi with one of many snook and also a beautiful trout caught using live bait. Look for conditions to get a little breezy over the weekend but next weeks weather should bring more great catches.
Capt. Joey Benko Naples fishing this week started on a great note with big catches and warm weather and ended with a minor cold front changing the game. The cold front Wed night was just enough to make catching live pilchards to much for a small boat the action went from snook and jacks to sheepshead, snapper and trout. But this time of year it's not always about catching the big ones but about having and creating some awesome memories. Here is the DiPietro family taking there dad fishing and man where they a joy to have on the boat.
Fishing this week has ended on a positive note. Strong full moon tides have created some very low tides be careful out there. Bait has been making a good comeback and the snook are loving them. If you do get a chance and want to change up the pace a little bit throw some flies in the back country for some good snook action. Sheepshead and trout can still be targeted using shrimp and jigs and look for redfish on the higher stages of the tides. The water should be warming this week to make for some great conditions.
Capt. Joey Benko This weeks fishing has been fantastic with trout being the main catches. Water temps have stayed relatively cool 65-68degrees making fish a little hesitant to chase down a fast moving pilchard. Shrimp and Jigs have been the best producer for these tasty fish. Check into Mike's Bait House for Capt. Roan's special jigs. Look for weather to keep water temps climbing which will trigger an improvement in the Snook and Redfish bite.
