We are experiencing the summer time rains in full effect and this is making catching bait very challenging. Look to turn in the cast nets for Sibiki Rigs to catch pinfish and thread fins. The passes from Doctors Pass to Cape Romano are loaded with big snook. On the beaches tarpon are moving up and down but get out early throwing crabs and big threads. With more rain in the forecast get out early to avoid the lightning storms in the afternoon. Here is Mr. Jennings family with one of many snook caught on the outgoing tide.

We had a fun family day inshore out of Naples. Plenty of #redfish, #snook and #trout to keep everyone smiling and enjoying the water with Capt. Joey! www.naplesfishingguide.com #inshorefishingnaples #marcoislandfishingcharters #naplesfishingcharters
The fishing here in Naples has been very good with Tarpon showing up. Snook and Redfish action has been awesome with lots of catches. Look for bait to get challenging as it's getting ready to spawn and with this last front pushing through it's going to take some time for things to stabilize again.
Capt. Joey A few #snook releases along the mangrove shorelines so far this week and even shots at laid up tarpon. The #tarpon migrate up the coast and retreat into the backwater areas during their long ocean journey. www.naplesfishingguide.com #fishingchartersnaples #marcoislandfishing #naplesfishingguide
These fish are just absolutely Badass! It is was an awesome day watching this beautiful fish kick my wife's ass. Great job grinding through the pain and getting it to the boat. #aftco #okuma #surfnturf #naplesfishingguide #mikesbaithouse #powerpole #cousinrods #smithoptics
Naples fishing is starting to get really good with tarpon, snook, redfish and trout being the primary focus. Pilchards can be found along the beaches and also mullet in the back bays. I've found my best action to be in the afternoon when the tide has a chance to fill in for redfish and snook. It is not uncommon for us to see sharks cruising around as well. Tarpon are starting to show up in small numbers as they migrate up the coast but with this weeks weather look for fishing to improve quickly. There are some smaller resident tarpon 15-30lbs that like to hang out tucked under the mangrove shorelines.
Below are a few photos from this past weekend where Luca Musico won his division catching snook redfish and trout during a local tournament on my boat. Have a great rest of the week! Capt. Joey Benko With the last front that came through and a big full moon the water temp has fallen back to the lower 70's. Bait fish have been the keys baits of choice but with cooler temps fish are still waiting for things to warm. Look for snook on the falling tide and redfish at the end of the incoming. Here is Carol Downey catching two beautiful redfish this week. With warmer temps look for things to start improving fast.
Fishing in Naples has been getting better and better with the warmer water temps. Spring is almost here bait has been challenging but once you have it the fish will come a get it. Snook have been the main players in the Naples backwater along with redfish and trout. I've been targeting snook wherever I can find clean water and redfish at the higher stages of the incoming tide. Trout have been big but not real prevalent. Look for the fishing to improve as this weeks forecast is looking to stay in the 80's. Here is one of many snook that we have been catching here in Naples right now 20snook catches on half day trips is pretty common.
Capt. Joey Benko Fishing here in Naples has been improving fast with the increasing water temps. The water temp in the backcountry has hit 76degrees. Snook, Trout, Jacks and Redfish have all been chasing pilchards. Bait has been showing up in good numbers and look for birds to be chasing bait balls up and down the beach. I've been using the new Fins 40g line and it is being put through the test lined up on the Okuma Azore 4000 and the 7312 Cousins Rods. I've been targeting snook and trout on the lower stages of the tide with redfish on the higher end of the incoming tide. Here is Heidi with one of many snook and also a beautiful trout caught using live bait. Look for conditions to get a little breezy over the weekend but next weeks weather should bring more great catches.
Capt. Joey Benko Naples fishing this week started on a great note with big catches and warm weather and ended with a minor cold front changing the game. The cold front Wed night was just enough to make catching live pilchards to much for a small boat the action went from snook and jacks to sheepshead, snapper and trout. But this time of year it's not always about catching the big ones but about having and creating some awesome memories. Here is the DiPietro family taking there dad fishing and man where they a joy to have on the boat.
