We made it into March with some fantastic weather and great bait. March is the opening of Snook season and remember it's ok to let some go to fight another day. When targeting snook using pilchards, pinfish, cut ladyfish, and mullet will greatly improve your catches. With warming water temps look for these fish to start moving to the passes and nearby inland bays. I love looking for deeper troughs that snook love to congregate in near the mangroves. Redfish are starting to fire up on the end of the incoming tides look for clean water with good deep pockets for these fish to be holding up in. Here is a personal best 43inch snook caught using a giant pilchard with a 3/0 Khale hook.
